Dr. Nguyen grew up in the suburbs of Houston, TX, and since high school, she knew she wanted to be an eye doctor. She graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston. She then went on to the prestigious University of Houston College of Optometry for another 4 years of education and training for her Doctorate of Optometry degree. Dr. Nguyen is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, which means she is licensed to treat, manage, and prescribe medications for most eye injuries, infections, diseases, and many more.
Having been in the industry since 2002 and having worked in various eye care settings, she knew she wanted to provide a higher standard of care for her patients once she became a doctor. This is why she started her practice in Richardson in 2011 upon completing her doctorate degree and training. Amid COVID 2020, she was offered an opportunity to open Van Alstyne Eye Care. She currently splits her time between both locations.
Dr. Nguyen is passionate about learning new and better ways to improve the quality of vision and life for her patients. Seeing clearly is one thing, but feeling good while doing so is another. Although Dr Nguyen can see patients of all ages and conditions, her special interests are custom contact lenses for those that have never been able to wear contact lenses before, treating dry eyes and correcting “lazy” eyes, eye strains/headaches with methods many have never heard of before and is not available at any other optometric practices.
Dr. Nguyen is an active member of the Northeast Texas Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association. Giving back has always been a priority; she will always make time to volunteer and donate proceeds of sale to local nonprofits in and around the community. Dr. Nguyen and her husband have their hands full with their two little ones, Henry and Chloe. Her life and professional motto: Treat others how you would want to be treated.
